Yeah for Wednesday!

Well, after a whole week, I finally made it to the gym and did something! I ran 2 miles in about 17:15 minutes and then I went to my Spin Class. Oh boy was I worn out. After about 5 minutes in the class I was out of energy, but I managed to stay through the whole class and still got a good workout. I guess I need to have more energy intake before I get to the gym. It was a great day though. Tonight I am hoping to swim. Hopefully I will have the time for that because I am going to a bridal shower.

Argh!

Well, Tuesday didn't go as planned. Instead Skyler and I ate bad food for dinner and walked around Disneyland for an hour. Tonight there will be no changes! I will be going to my Spin Class! Hopefully I can get there early enough to run before. I am crossing my fingers! Only 2 1/2 months before the race!

Wednesday and a long weekend!

I went to my Spin Class on Wednesday and pushed hard. I loved it. I did not get any training in on Thursday through Monday. Skyler and I went to San Francisco for the long weekend. We walked all over the city, but I would not call that working out. Just foot pain. Tonight I am planning on yoga and maybe running before. I have a lot of after-vacation things to do tonight. Skyler also started his new job today so maybe we will be able to go to the gym together more often. Here's to starting my training for the Camp Pendleton Sprint Triathlon on August 11!

Monday & Tuesday

So Monday was a bust. I drove to the gym to go to the Spin Class. I even arrived 15 minutes early but the class was full. I only had my cycle shoes so I couldn't run and the pool was closed so I couldn't swim. Tuesday I ran 2.75 miles in about 27 minutes. Then I went to my one hour yoga class. I feel great today!

Friday and Saturday

Friday afternoon I swam 60 laps in 29:30 minutes. I hadn't done a long swim in a while so it felt great. Saturday we biked leaisurely down to the beach with my Dad and sister Holly. It was a 17 mile bike ride. We were planning on riding back but we didn't have time.

Wednesday

I ended up going to my Spin Class and I worked hard. I feel that I could have pushed harder on the bike on my race so I want to work my bike legs. I felt great after the class. I did not work out last night. It is going to be harder to work out since Skyler will be home about the same time as me at night. Hopefully we can go to the gym together. Tomorrow we will be doing a serious bike ride, possibly 45 miles! I am looking forward to it!

Day One of Training

Last night was my first night back to the gym. It was nice to be back. Although I enjoyed the few days off, I like working out more. So last night I started off with a relaxing workout...Yoga! Tonight I will be doing something at the gym while Skyler spends the night skateboarding.

We did it!

Skyler and I successfully raced in the St. George Traithlon on Saturday. It was a long two days! Skyler finished with a time of 1:29:44 and I finished with 1:44:54, 15 minutes behind him. My swim was great. I was 10th (out of 41 in my category) for the swim. I thought I did well on the bike but it wasn't that great compared to everyone else. And the run was brutal, but I still did pretty well. My original goal was 2 hours and I beat that by 15 minutes. I am so happy with my time and can't wait to do that course again next year. On Sunday Skyler and I signed up for a Sprint Triathlon at Camp Pendleton on August 11, 2007. That should be interesting because the swim will be in the ocean. I guess I just have to get more practice. Today is a day off to do laundry but tomorrow the training starts again!

ONE MORE DAY! AHHHH!

Well, here was a breakdown for the week. Tuesday night I did a little bit of weight lifting and then yoga. I tried to get Skyler to come but he had school stuff. Jill couldn't come either, but I got a great workout. Wednesday, nothing. Thursday I went for a little job. It was probably around 3 miles and I jogged, not ran. Today I will relax. Tomorrow I will race and I will conquer!

Last Hard Workout

Last night I did my last hard workout before the big race. I swam 34 laps in 16:10 minutes. Then I ran 3.1 miles in 26:45 minutes. I felt tired when I got home but tonight I am just doing yoga and maybe some weight lifting. It's time to wind down before the race. I am pretty excited and so nervous that something will do wrong. I need to have more positive thoughts. 4 more days!

Scary Saturday

On Saturday Skyler and I decided to try out our new triathlon wetsuits. We decided that Newport Dunes was the place to do it. It is the ocean, but there are no waves back there. The water was not too bad and my wetsuit kept me warm. The hard part was not having a point of reference. I could not tell how fast I was swimming or which direction. Usually I have a line on the bottom of the pool to keep me swimming straight, but the ocean is a whole different story. We swam two laps, which is about half of what the race will be. It was hard but I am glad Skyler pushed me to do it!

Friday

Friday I ran but I made a change of scenery! After work I drove over to Tri-City Park in Placentia (the same place where the 5K was a few weeks ago). I ran 2.6 miles in about 22 minutes. It was perfect weather for a run.

Thursday

Skyler and I were able to get to the gym for a quick swim. I swam 30 laps in 14 minutes and he swam 28 laps in 12 minutes. Skyler is a fast swimmer, especially for not being able to work out much over the past several months. It should be a great race! 8 MORE DAYS!

Wednesday

Wednesday night I went to my Spin Class for 60 minutes. I don't know if the air wasn't working at all or if I just worked out super hard but I was drenched when I walked out of the class. It looked like I peed my pants! Anyways, it was a great workout. I am hoping to get some outdoor biking in this weekend.

Tuesday

Last night was a relaxing night. I didn't get to the gym with enough time to do cardio so I did some weights for about 20 minutes. I worked on both my arms and legs. Then I went to my 60 minute yoga class. It was great! Tonight Skyler is getting home early so we might go to the cycle class together. That would be fun!

Moving Monday

Monday I try to make my hardest workout day. Or at least get a great jumpstart on the week. Last night I swam 40 laps in 18:40 minutes, which is about 28 seconds a lap. That means I am improving because I had been swimming at about 30 seconds a lap. It seems like a small difference but it adds up. Then, I ran for 3.1 miles on the treadmill in 26:20 minutes. That beats my 5K race time from last week. I feel like I had a great workout last night, but I was so tired when I got home. Just 11 more days!
